We had a rare free Sunday afternoon and evening this past weekend. Usually, I indulge in a long nap, then stay up too late that night, and start the week out totally wiped out. Brilliant, I know.
This weekend, the kids and I enjoyed a long afternoon of cookie-baking.
No freak-outs by me.
The squabbles over who got to do which ingredient remained squabbles instead of morphing into wars.
These are all miraculous.
My husband didn’t mind waking up from his nap to the smell of baked goods, either! And now, if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to snuggle with my daughter and watch Shirley Temple in “Blue Bird.” This slowing down and enjoying the moment thing is really quiet nice.
