We talked side effects and risks and modes of transmission and emergency procedures. He handed me a couple of scripts, and then asked, “What is the predominant religion in Sri Lanka?”

I shifted on the exam table as I thought a moment. “I think it’s Buddhist, with some Islam and Hinduism.”

“I treat quite a few patients who practice Buddhism and Islam,” he said. “They are some of the most stressed out people I see.”
